This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your e-mail account. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook 2003, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook by using the settings in this tutorial.

If this is the first time you are setting up a mail client through Outlook then you will be presented with a wizard. If not then you will go to the Tools Menu and select Email Accounts:

On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select "Add a new e-mail account" and click Next.

For your server type, select "POP3" and click Next.

On the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, enter your information as follows:

  • Your Name: Enter your first and last name.
  • E-mail Address: Enter your e-mail address.
  • User Name: Enter your e-mail address, again.
  • Password: Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account.
  • Incoming mail server (POP3): Enter pop.secureserver.net for your incoming mail server.
  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP):Enter smtpout.secureserver.net for your outgoing mail server.

Online Agency / Levelfield uses SMTP Authentication so that only users with the corract account name and password can send email though our servers. To set this up you will click on the More Settings Button in theIntenet Email Settings (POP3) Screen.

On the Internet E-mail Settings window, select the "Outgoing Server" tab.

  • Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
  • Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server".

Next, Click on the Advanced Tab. Many ISPs (Internet Service Providers) block access to the default SMTP port (25). To counter this we provide an alternet Port for you to send mail through.

  • In the SMTP Port field chagne the Port to port 465

Click OK and this will bring you back to the Inernet Email Settings (POP#) Screen. You do not need to make any changes here though Made sure that the option to Login Using Secure Pasword Authentication is NOT Selected.
